Zardari reinstates Chief Justice Chaudhry

A year ago General Pervez Musharraf,

His highness, holiness and whatever else he was,

Held several simultaneous key positions,

To “naively” support his “patriotic” cause.

But the great man, Mr President and Mr. Prime Minister,

Army Chief, Chief Executive and Chief “criminal sinister”,

Never did take a single pause,

Suspended the country’s constitution,

And left the Chief Justice dislodged.

As the course of events unfolded,

Zadari took some responsibility,

Though he always appeared be molded.

After being chosen the president elect,

He promised to reinstate the Judges at the public’s behest,

thirty days, and he promised his best,

Yet the deadline passed and was never met!

Growing protest movements demanded,

Chaudhry and other judges to be re-seated,

Buckling under pressure, the current President Asif Ali,

Zardari boy was finally defeated.

Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was called back,

Little justice, since he was never legally sacked!

Two unresolved matters will immediately test Chaudhry:

Nawaz Sharif’s criminal history and,

Musharraf’s unwashed laundry.

While the former president has been barred from holding public office,

The latest has Musharraf’s controversial amnesty on corruption charges.

Uncle Sam pitched in with a pat on the back,

The Obama administration praised the Pakistan’s “sabre-toothed” rat.
